WNUR News is the largest
student-run radio news department in the United States. Its staff
of about 40 Northwestern University students runs 20 newscasts a
week and has won numerous awards at the local, state and national
level. WNUR News is consistently named the best student-run radio
news organization in Illinois.
WNUR News broadcasts
to more than 2.5 million people in the Chicago area and reaches
listeners around the globe via the internet.
In September 2003,
WNUR 89.3 FM was named the #1 College radio station in the country
by SPIN magazine.
Northwestern University's
School of Communication sponsors WNUR. The station's studios are
in Annie May Swift Hall on Northwestern's Evanston campus.
